Shavlik, Numara Partner on Patch Management

Numara Patch Manager determines security gaps in IT security environments

ST. PAUL, Minn. & TAMPA, Fla., Dec. 15, 2009 -- Shavlik Technologies, LLC, the market leader in simplifying and automating critical IT operations, and Numara' Software, a leader in service management and asset management solutions for IT professionals, today announced that the two companies have renewed their partnership agreement that allows Shavlik's patch management technology to be fully integrated into Numara Patch Manager to more effectively secure IT environments of all sizes.

A module of the newly launched Numara Asset Management Platform (NAMP), Numara Patch Manager determines security gaps in IT security environments, automatically identifies missing patches, and delivers critical fixes to devices across the entire organization. Powered by Shavlik Technologies, the Numara Patch Manager solution can enable IT administrators to manage 10,000 devices as easily as 10 devices.

Numara Patch Manager runs on a centrally managed platform, and leverages one console, eliminating the need for expensive combinations of disparate products, lowering the costs and complexity of managing technology assets for IT environments without sacrificing security or performance.

"We have had a long & productive partnership together, and we are pleased to continue that partnership with Shavlik, a technology leader for systems management including patch management," said David Weiss, president and CEO, Numara Software. "By using Shavlik's patch management technology as the engine in Numara Patch Manager, our customers benefit from the industry's de facto standard for patch management while leveraging the power of our comprehensive Numara Asset Management Platform to help companies ensure their assets are secure and protected from potential exploits."

"We're delighted to have renewed our partnership with Numara Software and extend our patch management engine into an exciting platform of new products that help IT organizations simplify their asset management efforts," said Mark Shavlik, president and CEO, Shavlik Technologies. "We believe that NAMP provides an effective way to extend Shavlik's patch management technology into this unique solution."
