Blue Coat Improves Security

Blue Coat announced its Blue Coat SG Client architecture which delivers application acceleration and security to endpoint devices

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Blue Coat® Systems (Nasdaq: BCSI), the leader in secure content and application delivery, today announced its Blue Coat SG Client architecture which delivers application acceleration and security to endpoint devices used by any remote or mobile user. The new client-based software solution integrates with Blue Coat’s current family of intelligent appliances to create the industry’s first comprehensive architecture to ensure WAN application performance and security for all users in any location across the distributed enterprise. Since mobile and remote users now comprise a significant and growing portion of all employees, a unified architecture that extends application performance and security control to individual endpoints is an emerging IT requirement.

"By incorporating the mobile user, Blue Coat can offer a complete solution to customers looking to extend the availability, security and performance of applications out to the far reaches of the organization," said Cindy Borovick, director for IDC’s datacenter networks program. “It is becoming critical to deliver the same level of network services to remote employees as those in the corporate headquarters.”
