PRESS RELEASE

WALTHAM, MA & BETHESDA, MD - December 4, 2008 - Fidelis Security Systems, the leader in next-generation data leakage prevention (DLP) solutions, today announced that the award-winning Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System(r), Fidelis XPS(tm), has been awarded Common Criteria certification for meeting the security requirements defined by the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation, making it the first and only data leakage prevention solution to have received this prestigious accreditation. Following a rigorous analysis and testing process, the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System was certified to conform to the standards sanctioned by the International Standards Organization. Common Criteria is an important worldwide evaluation standard for security products as its certifications are recognized in 25 countries around the world.

"We are pleased to be able to claim yet another first for the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System-to be the first and only data leakage prevention solution to have achieved Common Criteria certification puts our next-generation solution in a class on to its own," said Peter George, President and CEO, Fidelis Security Systems. "Security-conscious customers around the world recognize the importance of Common Criteria certification and utilize it as a determining factor when making their purchasing decisions."

To gain compliance, a product's security features are evaluated by an accredited commercial testing lab using Common Evaluation methodology. This is followed by an independent validation of evaluation results via Common Criteria authorized schemes, assessing the results of security evaluations conducted by licensed, independent labs. The resulting certification and validation report demonstrates conformance to Common Criteria. In the United States, federal agencies mandate that all IT products purchased by the U.S. Government for national security systems, which handle classified and some non-classified information, are required to be Common Criteria certified.

"As one of the fastest growing public sector IT solutions providers in the nation, we recognize the critical need and positive impact Common Criteria certification has on our customers," said John Trauth, President, Technology Systems Division of Merlin International, provider of technology solutions and services for a broad range of federal agencies, as well as state and local governments. "With this important achievement, Fidelis Security Systems continues to deliver a solution that meets the security requirements of large organizations, including government customers, who face the challenge of preventing the leakage of sensitive and classified information."

Built on a patent-pending deep session inspection platform(tm), Fidelis XPS is the industry's only next-generation data leakage prevention solution with the power to deliver comprehensive prevention over all ports and all channels, complete visibility and control, and the lowest total cost-of-ownership to stop network data leakage on gigabit-speed networks. Simply deployed as a context-aware network appliance, Fidelis XPS gives global enterprises unequalled accuracy, security, and performance. Certification to the Common Criteria requires in-depth analysis of product design and development methodology, backed by extensive testing. Common Criteria is currently recognized by the following countries: United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, The Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, The Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
