Paul Shomo is an analyst, cybersecurity media correspondent, and a former engineering leader behind the award-winning security forensics product, EnCase. Paul edits the academic journal, Digital Threats Research and Practice, produced by the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). Paul’s mission is to map the genealogy of innovation: that evolutionary path that great ideas travel upon as they become features, products, practices, and institutions. As an Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) member, Paul’s writings focus on the startup space, as well as academic and government-funded research.Before becoming a "cybersecurity guy," Paul developed kernel internals for Wind River Systems, working on embedded operating systems like VxWorks, which still powers today’s IoT and smart devices.
