PRESS RELEASE

November 2, 2009 - Today, security products TrustPort Antivirus 2010 and TrustPort PC Security 2010 have been released for sale. Both products are based on an advanced antivirus technology, which has reached, according to the October Virus Bulletin comparative test, the best reactive and proactive detection of malware in the world. The new versions bring improvements both in function and in control.

TrustPort Antivirus 2010 and TrustPort PC Security 2010 are aimed mainly at home and small office users. While the first product focuses on protecting the computer against malware of all kinds, at all entry points of the computer, the second product throws in a personal firewall and securing of private data through encryption and shredding.

For corporate clients, TrustPort Antivirus Business 2010 and TrustPort PC Security Business 2010 are available. Their design and functionality derive from the home versions; however, they offer central administration and mass deployment of the software in corporate networks. Furthermore, they can be purchased not only with two but also with four scanning engines, which brings virus detection closer to the magical hundred percent limit.

In all of these products, AVG and BitDefender scanning engines were implemented as a default combination. Virus detection rate has thus increased, while the false alarm rate has decreased. "We are excited about the partnership with TrustPort," says Peter Laakkonen, General Manager, OEM and Technology Licensing at BitDefender. "And we are pleased to see TrustPort joining the growing number of leading IT security companies who have licensed BitDefender's innovative antimalware technologies into their products for the best-of-class protection."

In contrast with previous versions, automated installation of software updates has been added, without the need of manual user intervention. This change is about functional updates, not about automated virus updates, which have been commonplace for a long time.

Mail protection also underwent improvement. Software now includes plugins for all commonly used mail clients, namely Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird, and allows a more effective disposal of unsolicited and infected mail. A protection of antivirus system files was implemented, to prevent malware attempts to disable normal function of the antivirus.

TrustPort Antivirus 2010 and TrustPort PC Security 2010 are compatible with all current Windows platforms, both 32-bit and 64-bit. The software runs on Windows 7, Windows 2008, Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Windows XP and Windows 2000. It is available in five language versions - Czech, English, German, Italian, and Spanish. The user can choose the language during installation but it can be changed anytime later, too.
