Sipera VIPER Tests for VOIP/UC Vulnerabilities
Sipera Systems announced the availability of Sipera VIPER Services
RICHARDSON, Texas -- Sipera™ Systems, the leader in comprehensive security for VoIP, mobile and multimedia communications, today announced the availability of Sipera VIPER™ Services. Enterprises and service providers can utilize Sipera VIPER Services to analyze, assess, and test their VoIP/UC networks, to then efficiently apply specific security measures. Likewise, OEMs can test their latest VoIP/UC devices, and proactively secure them prior to general availability, based on Sipera VIPER Services reports. Sipera is debuting the services in Booth 634 at VoiceCon San Francisco this week.
Sipera VIPER Services is comprised of three components:
Vulnerability Analysis – Examining the robustness of VoIP/UC devices, infrastructures and applications, and generating an analysis based on an attacker’s location and entry points where the attacker could breach security.
Risk Assessment – Delivering a color-coded risk assessment report on threats, based on asset value and probability of exploitation.
Penetration Testing – Launching ethical hacks on a controlled environment, such as a lab or an isolated piece of a production network.
A report is generated during each phase, which highlights the vulnerabilities discovered, along with remediation recommendations.
Sipera VIPER Services are based on the expertise of Sipera VIPER Lab, the leading VoIP/UC vulnerability researchers, who identify security threats against SIP, IMS, and UMA networks. A key component of the Sipera VIPER Services is the Sipera LAVA™ (Load Analysis and Vulnerability Assessment) Tool, which analyzes deployments to identify any known or suspected attack. Sipera LAVA Tool is capable of launching threat centric attacks from any access point in the network, and can emulate thousands of attacks. This truly verifies networks’ readiness to resist VoIP-related attacks, and enables enterprises and service providers to evaluate new systems and software updates in a variety of deployments.
“Though there is high demand for security analysis of VoIP and Unified Communications networks, neither enterprises, service providers nor vendors have the expertise, specialized tools or the time to conduct proper testing,” said Krishna Kurapati, founder and CTO of Sipera Systems. “At the same time, most penetration testing consultants do not have the experience required to conduct comprehensive analysis for VoIP/UC vulnerabilities and risks. Sipera VIPER Services effectively fill this gap to help customers with their VoIP/UC vulnerability testing.”
