ORANGE, Calif. and BASINGSTOKE, UK " January 14, 2009 " Marshal8e6, the leading secure email and Web gateway security provider, today unveiled a significant upgrade to the 8e6 Enterprise Reporter— the company's forensic reporting tool that documents the history of users who violate an organization's Internet Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). The appliance-based Enterprise Reporter 5.0's new features, including increased user capacity through a single activity log, augments what was already the industry's most deployed forensic tool offering unmatched flexibility and best-in-class scalability for even the largest enterprise environments.

Organizations that deploy the Enterprise Reporter 5.0 have the ability to streamline as many as 300,000 users from multiple appliances into one reporting log, thus reducing the time and costs associated with aggregating multiple reports. In addition to this boosted capacity, the new Enterprise Reporter 5.0 continues to offer the same robust reporting features customers require, including detailed forensic reports with the ability for customizable drill-down options that look deep into network activity. Even with thousands of additional users, the Enterprise Reporter 5.0 remains low-impact on the network and will not slow network performance.

New features in the Enterprise Reporter 5.0 include:

New "Consolidated Mode" for reporting from multiple Enterprise Reporter appliances into a single log. Secure log transfers between the R3000, the company's flagship Internet filtering appliance, and the Enterprise Reporter 5.0. Enhanced Malware report alerts administrators to any Web security threats detected by the Internet filter; allowing administrators to quickly isolate the infected node and mitigate the problem.

"The new features in the Enterprise Reporter 5.0 give organizations a tool that will scale with their business and is therefore a strategic investment. In today's business climate, managers absolutely require IT solutions that easily grow with the business and are able to handle a changing threat and legal landscape," said Bradley Anstis, director of technology strategy at Marshal8e6. "With this latest release, Marshal8e6 is moving towards our goal of providing mission critical network security in one consolidated dashboard for management ease of use."

Built on a dedicated MySQL server database, the Enterprise Reporter 5.0 quickly processes and generates customized or standardized reports. It is the fastest, most flexible Internet filter reporting solution available, and is able to handle large amounts of Internet traffic without slowing the network because of its unique ability to pre-process data. The Enterprise Reporter is the only reporting solution to reveal such a high level of detail about users and their Internet use. Many corporate employees are sophisticated enough to bypass Web filter by using on-the-fly proxies and other methods to access prohibited content. With Enterprise Reporter in place, IT staff can identify aberrant traffic patterns that uncover violations against a company's AUP, and create documentation to take corrective action.
