FREDERICK, Md., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Fortrex Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) auditing services, today announced that it has been recertified as an Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV) with the PCI Security Standards Council, an independent body that governs the security standards for the payments industry. Fortrex's PCI Scanning Services ensure that its payment software conforms to the strict security standards instituted by the PCI Security Standards Council.

Fortrex offers the three mainline PCI DSS audit services and has expanded its PCI services to include PCI Pre-assessment Gap Analysis and Self Assessment Assistance.

In order to be recertified by the PCI Security Standards Council, Fortrex's PCI Scanning Services were put through a rigorous test, which simulates the network of a typical security scan customer. The testing addressed: scan administration -- how the vendor collects and manages scan requests from its customers; scan performance -- the ability of each vendor to identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations in the network and web application; and scan report -- how the vendor presents the scan results to its customers.
