SAN DIEGO and DALLAS -- In a move that will allow gamers to experience their computer video games at full-throttle and remain protected from malware, ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, and Tri Synergy, a computer and video game co-publishing company, today announced the formation of a strategic alliance. Under terms of the agreement, ESET is offering consumers who purchase select Tri Synergy games a free 30-day trial to download ESET NOD32 software, as well as a special 2-for-1 ESET licensing promotion. ESET offers gamers complete online threat protection in a single integrated solution that does not impact computer performance.

Gamers who purchase Tri Synergy's newly released games from retail outlets are eligible for the free-trial as well as a 2-for-1 promotion for ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

As the video game industry continues to rise in popularity and gamers compete against each other via the Internet, exposure to malware is becoming an increasing threat. Gamers are reluctant to use antivirus solutions that will negatively impact computer speed and performance. A recent Harris Interactive® survey found 65 percent of adults in North America turn off their antivirus solution because it slows their system.

ESET has recognized the need for maximum protection with minimal resource utilization. With just four percent of system overhead, ESET NOD32 Antivirus provides industry-leading speed and performance while utilizing its advanced heuristics technology to proactively identify potential threats. NOD32 is also fully compatible with 64-bit systems, ensuring gamers using the most powerful machines have complete protection from viruses, keyloggers, Trojans, phishing attacks, rootkits and other criminally motivated online threats.

"Tri Synergy is pleased to offer gamers the best of both worlds - complete protection without sacrificing valuable system resources necessary for today's high-end games," said Shane Nestler, executive vice president at Tri Synergy. "We identified ESET as a market leader with advanced technology to combat malware threats while still meeting the high PC performance demands of our customers."

"We realize that performance is a driving factor for gamers," said Rick Moy, vice president of marketing, ESET, LLC. "Once ESET NOD32 is installed, our technology delivers instantaneous, automatic protection from the dangers of the Internet. ESET's philosophy is that gamers should focus on enjoying the challenge of the games themselves; we will take care of the security challenges."
