SAN DIEGO -- ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced that Deer Valley Unified School District (USD) has selected ESET NOD32 Antivirus software as the default antivirus solution for its 36 K-12 schools located in Phoenix and five neighboring cities. Currently, ESET software is deployed district-wide across 6,000 personal computers and has been responsible for removing all traces of previous malware infections that plagued the school district prior to switching to ESET. Since im plementing ESET software in June of 2005, no computers have been compromised at Deer Valley USD, resulting in an increase in network uptime and end-user productivity for the schools. The deployment of NOD32 software is expected to reach 12,000 computers by 2009.

Ideal for distributed deployments such as large school districts, Deer Valley selected ESET NOD32 Antivirus software as it can be centrally managed, automatically updates end-user devices without impacting performance and offers the highest level of proactive protection that stops new forms of malware before impacting the network. ESET was selected to replace a competing antivirus solution that failed to provide efficient and effective signature updates, resulting in end-user disruption, incomplete protection from emerging threats and slowed network performance.

"ESET's solution has been instrumental in allowing us to monitor 6,000 PCs against threats that could have a harmful effect on our network," said Dave Hatfield, district manager of technical services. "I feel extremely confident that Deer Valley USD is now receiving the most progressive anti-malware solution available on the market today. We have not had to deal with a single infection in our network since deploying ESET NOD32."
