Andrew Lee brings to ESET a blend of corporate experience and security expertise

Lee succeeds ESET, LLC’s founding CEO, Anton Zajac, who will continue in an executive management role with the company as President. An industry veteran, Lee brings a unique perspective to his new role, combining the familiarity that he gained as chief research officer during his previous tenure at ESET with his extensive outside experience. In his new position, Lee will focus on maintaining ESET’s position as a trusted global internet security brand, while looking to new areas of growth for the company.

Lee brings to ESET a unique blend of corporate experience and security expertise. Having served as chief research officer at ESET from 2004 to 2008, Lee was responsible for building ESET's reputation as a world class research organization. Most recently, Lee served as chief technology officer for K7 Computing, an antivirus software and Internet security company, where he was responsible for all aspects of K7's technology, leading the acquisitions of two technology companies and bringing the K7SecureWeb product to market.

Lee is a founding member of AVIEN, one of the world’s largest independent networks of anti-malware experts and co-authored the “AVIEN Malware Defense Guide” with current ESET researcher David Harley. Lee was also a founding director of the Anti-Malware Testing Standards Organization (AMTSO), an international non-profit association that focuses on addressing the global need for improvement in the objectivity, quality and relevance of anti-malware testing methodologies. A frequent speaker at industry conferences, ISC2 Seminars, AVAR, Virus Bulletin and EICAR, Lee is a widely published author of articles on antivirus and security. He holds an MSc degree in computer security from the University of Liverpool.
