PRESS RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TITUS, a leading provider of security and compliance solutions for email, documents, and unstructured data, today announced the launch of TITUS Aware™, a family of products specifically targeted toward enterprises that are looking to complement their current Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategy.

“Our message and document classification products have become a proven solution for military and government organizations around the world,” said Tim Upton, President and CEO of TITUS. “However, the need for data protection does not stop there. As we have seen, there is a great need for commercial organizations to protect themselves from data breaches. By utilizing our TITUS Aware products in conjunction with other DLP solutions, CIOs can find peace of mind in knowing that the data which should not leave the organization will not.”

The TITUS Aware family differs from other DLP solutions because it actively involves the users in data loss prevention, and helps to strike a balance between sharing information, and securing information. Many current DLP products depend entirely on automated solutions to detect sensitive information. The TITUS Aware products have Real Time Detect and Correct™ which can detect sensitive information at the desktop, educate users on the handling of sensitive information and give users the tools to remedy data breaches before they can occur. False positives from enterprise DLP solutions can also be reduced by the Metadata Assist for DLPTM feature of TITUS Aware. The products fit seamlessly into an existing Microsoft Office environment and require no additional server infrastructure.

“User Driven security solutions are a necessity in today’s business environment, where data breaches are becoming more and more commonplace as information sharing has become such an important business practice,” said Andreas Wuchner, CISO, CISA, CISPP, and currently a Managing Director of IT Risk Control. “While there are from time to time breaches that are malicious, the majority of breaches are inadvertent and can be stopped by involving the user in the overall DLP strategy.”

The first member of the TITUS Aware family is TITUS Aware™ for Microsoft Outlook', which protects businesses from inadvertent data breaches by validating emails for policy violations and regulatory compliance before they leave the desktop. By validating an email’s content and attachments, as well as its recipients to ensure that corporate policies are followed, TITUS Aware for Microsoft Outlook ensures that commercial enterprises are sharing the right information with the right people.

“Organizations are continually sharing data with partners, clients and even competitors in this age of collaboration and transparency,” said Eric Ouellet, Vice President of Research with Gartner. “There are significant benefits to involving the end users directly in the protection of data, and in turn in their organization’s overall DLP strategy.”
