PRESS RELEASE

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- VanDyke Software(R), a developer of Secure Shell solutions that balance strong security with ease of use, today announced the official releases of SecureCRT 6.2 and SecureFX 6.2.

"Many of our customers are network administrators who work with dozens, if not hundreds, of sessions during their workday. For these IT professionals, SecureCRT and SecureFX 6.2 let them quickly and easily apply settings and password changes to a number of sessions at the same time," said Maureen Jett, VanDyke Software's Product Director.

"I really like the ability to edit multiple sessions; it saves a lot of time," said Brad Moore, a senior network engineer at A. Teichert & Sons, Inc. and beta tester of SecureCRT 6.2. "When resetting a password on a group of profiles, SecureCRT changes each profile without a single issue."

Resuming workflow is now easier with an option to have the applications

remember and start up the sessions you were working in the last time you ran the program. Also in this latest release of SecureCRT are new ways to automate logging, including nightly log file rotation and the ability to include parameter substitutions in file paths.

For file transfer, SecureFX 6.2 introduces filters for fine-tuning site synchronization that can be set up to allow you to perform operations such as excluding .svn folders or uploading only HTML files to a web server. According to Carl Hamilton, a software engineer using SecureFX 6.2, "...the filtering feature does exactly what I need. Combined with the synchronization database, SecureFX has become an almost perfect tool for the way I work."

SecureCRT 6.2 and SecureFX 6.2 also simplify smart-card authentication with PKCS #11 support and introduce native 64-bit versions for customers using x64 Windows.

SecureCRT is the tool of choice for busy IT professionals who need solid security, fine-tuned session management, and reliable remote access, combining a feature-filled terminal emulator with the security of the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol. SecureFX is a versatile file transfer application that supports SFTP, FTP over SSL, as well as standard FTP. VanDyke Software also offers the VShell(R) Secure Shell server, which replaces Telnet and FTP for secure network administration and end-user access on Windows and UNIX platforms. The VanDyke ClientPack combines a powerful set of command-line utilities for securely automating routine file transfer, shell, and public-key administration tasks on Windows, Linux, and UNIX.

Fully-functional evaluation copies of SecureCRT and SecureFX can be downloaded from the company's website: http://www.vandyke.com. Evaluators have full access to VanDyke's expert technical support to assist with installation, configuration, and testing.
