PRESS RELEASE

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - Jul 7, 2011) - Security B-Sides, a cultish and highly successful community-driven event built for and by information security community members, today announced the 2011 event details and speaker lineup for B-Sides Las Vegas, being held August 3-4, 2011 at The Artisan Hotel Boutique from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. PT. This year's B-Sides Las Vegas event will include three tracks, 42 talks and over 50 presenters. Newly added this year are full-day infosec training sessions that will be free to all B-Sides attendees. "If the overwhelming list of registrants that maxed out our ticket sales months ago is any indicator, B-Sides Las Vegas is going to be off the charts this year," said Chris Nickerson, B-Sides Co-Founder and Event Producer. "As someone who has been on the front lines since day one, it has been truly amazing to watch the B-Sides phenomenon completely explode these past two years. While planning this upcoming event in Vegas, we've been careful to remember our roots and what really makes B-Sides so unique in the first place... every mindset is welcome, from CEO to security practitioner to black and white hat hackers. The only requirements are having an open mind and willingness to share."

This year, some of the most widely anticipated talks at B-Sides Las Vegas include:

"Something Awesome" by H.D. Moore "Cyber Fast Track" by Mudge "Thoughts on LulzSec through the historical lens of Russian Nihilism and Motiveless Terrorism" by Moxie Marlinspike "Better to Burn Out than to Fade Away?" by Jack Daniel "Info Sec Institute: What College Never Will Teach You" by Rick Deacon "How Government Accountability Conflicts With Citizen Privacy (and Why It's Your Fault)" by Wendy Nather "Are There Still Wolves Among Us?" by Val Smith "Wireless' dirty sisters - The other RF (wireless) you aren't looking at and why you are going to get f*#@*d!" by Brad Bowers

"We had over 140 talks to choose from this year -- all of which were superior in terms of both the topics and the speakers. Suffice it to say, the decision-making process was really difficult for our speaker's panel that spent countless hours reviewing every submission," said Nickerson. "We're beyond psyched to see the security industry embrace B-Sides the way it has and we hope to see the interest and involvement continue as B-Sides grows into 2012 and beyond."

The newly added full-day infosec training courses will be hosted concurrently during the event and are on a first come, first serve basis. Courses on "Networking for Penetration Testers" and "Mobile App Security Code Reviews" are currently open. More classes may be added in the coming weeks.
