The Secunia PSI 2.0 represents another initiative by Secunia to give something back to the IT community, by raising awareness of the important issue affecting end-users everywhere the need for automatic security and by providing a free user-friendly security tool to help keep home PCs safe.

The Secunia PSI 2.0 final release follows a successful Beta test, which revealed highly interesting findings that support the need for auto-updating. Over 90,000 users within the Secunia community tested the solution, providing valuable feedback to further enhance the solution, and 385,272 security patches were automatically installed by the new Auto Update feature. During the Beta test, the Secunia PSI 2.0 automatically installed critical security updates to approximately 37% of Adobe Flash Player users, 47% of Sun Java users and 24% of Adobe Reader users.
