PRESS RELEASE

BALTIMORE, October 6, 2011 SafeNet, Inc., a worldwide leader in data protection, today unveiled its Multi-Domain eXchange (MDeX) System that provides a trusted information-sharing capability critical to the United States defense, homeland security, and intelligence missions. The MDeX System ensures that sensitive information is responsibly shared between multiple organizations and security domains.

The Unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO) Cross Domain Inventory, Version 4.0 baseline includes SafeNet’s MDeX System as a validated alternative for government organizations’ cross-domain transfer needs. The UCDMO is a joint Defense Department (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) organization that was established in 2006 to provide centralized coordination and oversight of cross-domain initiatives across these communities. The MDeX System is the first solution on the UCDMO baseline that offers unprecedented speed, security, and flexibility for enterprise or mission Java' messaging, file sharing, and other information exchange services.

“Cross-domain solutions must have the technical capabilities to support information-sharing needs regardless of protocol or content type, yet maintain the high degree of assurance that is the foundation for these solutions,” said Shawn Campbell, MDeX System Product Manager, SafeNet. “Through the MDeX System, SafeNet is transforming cybersecurity by providing reliable, secure, and configurable information sharing across domains for U.S. government organizations that require secure critical communications around sensitive, national security operations.”

The MDeX System enables responsible information sharing with:

Complete Remote Management – The MDeX System’s Remote Management Station (RMS) provides an intuitive graphic user interface (GUI) for remote management, policy configuration, and event management. This user-friendly design enables system managers to quickly learn MDeX System operations, and allows the enterprise to continuously monitor all cross-domain activities.

Plug-and-Play Architecture –The MDeX System’s modular design radically simplifies the process by which organizations can add new domains, communities of interest, applications, and content filters. The unique “certify once and accredit many” capability of the MDeX System delivers unparalleled flexibility to address requirements based on mission or organizational needs, without additional recertification of the entire MDeX System.

Massive scalability – The MDeX System can scale to meet enterprise data management requirements or be can be deployed on ruggedized equipment for tactical information-sharing needs. Any devices that support Java'– ranging from enterprise-class servers to small handheld devices, including smartphones – can take advantage of the MDeX System to transfer sensitive information.
