PRESS RELEASE

MONTE SERENO, CALIF. June 18, 2014 – Today Ohanae, Inc. announced the launch of its cloud privacy protection suite guarding both data in the cloud and the credentials to access that data. Ohanae allows consumers and businesses to easily create, share, and keep files securely in the cloud, while permitting both secure and simple access from any desktop, laptop, or mobile devices. Ohanae integrates unique components into a secure, easy-to-use and non-disruptive platform. Ohanae’s patent pending technology ensures that passwords and encryption keys are never stored anywhere but are dynamically created and erased locally instead.  Available now users can download Ohanae for free.

“In today’s business environment with its widespread BYOD and cloud file sync and share adoption, it is imperative to trust no one and encrypt everything,” said Greg Hauw, founder and CEO at Ohanae. “Ohanae empowers consumers and businesses to create, share and keep all their files in the cloud, accessing them from multiple devices, securely and without compromise.”

How it works:

  • Ohanae provides a device-centric dual solution assuring both login and cloud data protection. Both services are based on patent pending technology that prevents storage of keys anywhere (whether on local devices, or with cloud data providers, or on Ohanae cloud servers). Instead, keys are generated on the device at time of use, and then disposed of.  Unlike other solutions that encrypt a file containing user’s passwords, Ohanae never stores passwords, but rather dynamically creates them only when they are needed.

  •  Ohanae includes sharing capabilities based on public key infrastructure standards permitting secure sharing between multiple users. Sharing between devices of the same user is accomplished using Ohanae’s proprietary algorithms.

  •  The combination allows decryption keys to be controlled by the data owner. These keys are used only at the point of encryption/decryption and never shipped off the device. The cloud data provider does not have access to the decryption keys, and cannot access the unencrypted file content.  Result: robust security against both local and cloud attacks.

Pricing and Supported Platforms:

Now available for download, Ohanae is free for single device use. Multi-device use (up to eight devices) costs one dollar per month per user. Business use costs two dollars per month, per user, with centralized management capability from an intuitive web interface. Ohanae supports: Android, iOS, Mac OS, Windows desktop and Store App, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, and Firefox, with the same look and feel on each.
