FSCC Chooses Websense

FSCC chooses Websense to protect members from data loss

SAN DIEGO -- Financial Service Centers Cooperative (FSCC) the international credit union Shared Branching Network, today announced a technology partnership with two leading data protection vendors, GlobalCerts and Websense Inc., to enhance security measures on the network for participating credit unions representing 12 million members.

Throughout 2006, the FSCC Shared Branching Network experienced tremendous growth in transaction activity—a trend that demanded attention and a solution for the risks associated with wrongful data exposure incidents. With more than 1,000 branches worldwide and plans to expand to an additional 2,200 locations at select 7-Eleven® stores nationwide, data security is a top priority for FSCC.

While FSCC offers a variety of fraud prevention training, tools and disaster recovery services to its member credit unions, they also needed a solution that would protect confidential customer and financial data from being accidentally or maliciously exposed.

“When millions of members who are stakeholders in your organization entrust you with their personal data and financial assets, you need to be sure to have the policies and tools in place to prevent sensitive information from leaking out of your network,” said Bonnie Kramer, chief operating officer, FSCC. “We wanted a comprehensive solution that could monitor data in motion, at rest, as well as in use. We decided on Websense Content Protection Suite® because of its sheer breadth of coverage and the accuracy of its digital fingerprinting technology.”
