BOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Crossbeam Systems®, Inc., the leader in enterprise- and carrier-class Unified Threat Management (UTM) solutions for the world’s largest networks, today announced Jim Vedda as vice president of worldwide sales. Based out of Crossbeam’s U.S. headquarters in Boxborough, Mass., Vedda will assume responsibility for management of worldwide sales and sales operations, reporting directly to the company’s Chief Executive Officer Pete Fiore.

“Jim’s track record in driving revenue and building exceptional sales teams makes him the ideal person to lead Crossbeam’s global sales force,” Fiore said. “I have a great deal of experience working with Jim and I know he understands exactly what it will take to scale our sales force and bring Crossbeam to the next level of revenue and market share growth. His background in running large international operations while living in both Europe and Asia, along with his strong business acumen, will be enormous assets to Crossbeam as we expand our global presence.”

Vedda brings more than 20 years of sales experience to Crossbeam, having managed global sales organizations at leading high technology companies. Previously, he was responsible for the global sales and partner organization at IBM’s Information Integration Solutions segment (formerly Ascential Software), one of the most productive selling groups within IBM. As head of worldwide sales at Ascential, Jim's strategic leadership helped double the company’s revenue to more than $300 million annually. This ultimately led to a successful $1.1 billion acquisition by IBM.

Prior to Ascential, Vedda spent almost 10 years at Parametric Technology Corporation, where he held a number of executive sales positions throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia. He began his career at NCR and has held various sales and sales management positions. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University.

“As an established leader in the network security space with a foothold in key markets, Crossbeam is poised for rapid growth on a global level,” Vedda said. “I look forward to working with the sales team to build a truly world-class organization that consistently exceeds its goals and drives company growth.”
