SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TippingPoint, a leader in intrusion prevention, and Critical Watch today announced a strategic collaboration that gives organizations enhanced capabilities for defending against network threats. Specifically, the integrated solution enables companies to quickly identify network vulnerabilities within their unique environment, compare those to current Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) settings, and make adjustments to those settings to ensure protection of the vulnerable hosts. By exchanging information between the two products, organizations are able to easily improve security, achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and reduce total cost of operation.

The integration of the TippingPoint' Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and the Critical Watch FusionVM solution extends beyond basic threat-to-vulnerability correlation offering customers a comprehensive process for connecting IPS and vulnerability management functions. The joint solution works by mapping the FusionVM vulnerability library to corresponding filters from TippingPoint's Digital Vaccine' (DV) service. For security administrators that are dealing with an ever-evolving threat landscape, this mapping provides a view of which DV filters are turned on, how they map to the current threat and what other security options are available to mitigate the attack.
