PRESS RELEASE

Columbia, MD – August 31, 2010 -- Sourcefire, Inc. (Nasdaq: FIRE), the creators of Snort' and a leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions, today announced its vision and strategy for the Sourcefire' Technology Partner (STP) Program. The new STP Program helps businesses ensure that their security products are capable of being used reciprocally – supporting maximum return on investment and minimizing risk to their network. The STP Program was designed to simplify integration between the Sourcefire Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and complementary security technologies. Through this program, Sourcefire is creating a comprehensive ecosystem of security solutions closely aligned to share information, coordinate responses and deliver an increased level of protection.

“As threats become increasingly sophisticated, it is important for businesses to select security vendors who promote the development of interoperable products and solutions,” said Andrew Hay, Senior Security Analyst with independent IT analyst firm The 451 Group. “The STP Program from Sourcefire is a prime example of one vendor driving integration and collaboration between disparate products.”

The Sourcefire Technology Partner Program enables users to maximize their security investments, speed protection and reduce overhead costs. The STP Program enables organizations to combine leading network forensics, Network Access Control (NAC), Intrusion Prevention System, Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), vulnerability management, and infrastructure technologies into an intelligent security ecosystem. This provides users with an increased depth of technologies that can interact and share information with the Sourcefire IPSTM, for increased protection and lower total cost of ownership. Sourcefire empowers partners and increases the effectiveness of protection by providing powerful integration points that enable the IPS to share security intelligence with other leading solutions. This enables Sourcefire to import intelligence from leading vulnerability management solutions for more effective impact assessment. It can also share information with SIEM solutions for increased event correlation and remediate to NAC solutions to quarantine hosts associated with security events. Sourcefire is currently working with leading security vendors, providing them with access to software development kits (SDKs) and technical support, for increased integration. Following is a sample of current partners: • Bradford Networks • Net Optics • Netwitness • Network Critical • Q1Labs • Qualys • Solera • Trustwave • WhiteHat Security

“To effectively protect against today’s most sophisticated threats, enterprises require their individual security investments to communicate and share threat, vulnerability and impact information,” said Douglas Hurd, Director of Alliance Marketing at Sourcefire. “With the Sourcefire Technology Partner Program, we are enabling our customers and channel partners to leverage and extend the capabilities of their existing solutions, so that they can improve the accuracy and affordability of protection.”

The Sourcefire Technology Partner Program is part of the Sourcefire Global Security Alliance, which also includes channel partners and MSSPs. Sourcefire channel partners play an important role in the program – deploying, supporting and managing multiple technologies from many vendors and are uniquely positioned to leverage the benefits of an integrated security strategy for their customers.

"Enterprise customers utilize multiple security solutions to protect their valuable network assets," said Gordon Shevlin, SVP Fishnet Security. "Interoperability and automation of security products is now more critical than ever for businesses to keep-up with advanced attacks and to maximize return on investments."
