(Nasdaq: FIRE), the creator of Snort' and a leader in intelligent cybersecurity solutions, today announced its partnership with Q1 Labs, a global provider of security intelligence solutions, to integrate the Sourcefire Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) with QRadar Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) delivering greater contextual awareness into network security events. With this integration, Sourcefire is providing customers with increased correlation and forensics capabilities, enabling users to more effectively identify network threats and anomalies.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to help customers maximize their security investments and deliver proactive protection, Sourcefire actively partners with organizations that enable our customers to optimize their security operations for greater protection,” said Doug Hurd, Director of Technical Alliances at Sourcefire. “Through this integration with Q1 Labs, Sourcefire is providing end-users with increased visibility into network activity and the threat intelligence necessary to adapt security measures for greater protection against targeted attacks.”

Under the agreement, Q1 Labs is joining the Sourcefire Technology Partner Program and Sourcefire will join Q1 Labs’ Security Intelligence Partner Program. Through this partnership, customers can leverage Sourcefire Real-time Network Awareness (RNA) within the QRadar platform to track network behavior and identify potential vulnerabilities. By combining the power of Sourcefire and Q1 Labs, users have the ability to not only block current attacks, but to also analyze these threats for greater protection against future exploits.

“While organizations need the ability and intelligence to protect against targeted attacks in real-time, they also need the threat correlation and analysis capabilities to proactively safeguard their systems before an attack,” said Tom Turner, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Channels at Q1 Labs. “By integrating Sourcefire’s threat and network visibility with QRadar, we are enabling users to take a proactive stance against targeted attacks.”
