CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA, USA – February 8th, 2011 – nPulse Technologies will demonstrate the world’s first commercial implementation of the open-source, OISF- and DHS-sponsored Suricata IDS/IPS project (http://www.openinfosecfoundation.org) at next week’s RSA Conference in San Francisco.

The ThreatMeter appliance, which is part of nPulse’s Dragonfly Sensor product line, delivers multi-gigabit IDS/IPS performance in a 1U appliance. ThreatMeter utilizes advanced packet capture hardware from Napatech and the latest rulesets from Emerging Threats Pro to achieve full packet inspection even on the busiest links.

nPulse is a Gold Member of the OISF Consortium, and maintains a QA Test lab for Suricata developers at its Charlottesville, VA, facility. Developers access the nPulse systems remotely, load their code revisions, and test Suricata releases under heavy traffic loads generated by nPulse’s HammerHead Traffic Capture and Replay System.

nPulse, Napatech, and Emerging Threats Pro will jointly host a press and analyst briefing at RSA on Wednesday, February 16th to present the ThreatMeter solution. Matt Jonkman will be the keynote speaker discussing issues and trends in next generation high-speed IDS/IPS implementation. The event will be held at 11:15am in Room North 133 of the Moscone Center. The briefing will be immediately followed by an open brainstorming session with the Suricata development team organized by the OISF.
