PRESS RELEASE

Mountain View, CA—April 7, 2010—NCP engineering, Inc. today released the NCP Dynamic Personal Firewall, to provide employees using the company's enterprise remote access software solution with immediate end-device protection upon system start-up. The innovative technology was designed from the ground up to flexibly adapt to location-specific firewall rules, and can be centrally managed by IT staff for greater transparency and operational efficiency. Available today for free, 30-day trials, the NCP Dynamic Personal Firewall is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP operating systems in both 32- and 64-bit versions.

Key Features:

  • Immediately upon system start-up, the NCP Dynamic Personal Firewall reliably protects end-devices from unauthorized access in a variety of remote access environments. Depending on different environments' unique security settings, such as those found in a home office versus a corporate Wi-Fi network, NCP's location-aware Friendly Net Detection function authenticates itself with NCP's firewall software, recognizes the secure and insecure networks and activates the necessary firewall rules.

    • With the NCP Secure Enterprise Management System, network administrators can centrally manage the firewall software. IT staff can lock all of the NCP Dynamic Personal Firewall settings, so that employees cannot alter them; they can also define particular firewall rules for every individual user.

    • The NCP Dynamic Personal Firewall also features a pre-set, silent mode that disables software prompts. This default helps eliminate the most frequent source for security errors—employees' frequent and doubtful confirmation of such firewall notices.
