PRESS RELEASE

MILPITAS, Calif., April 14, 2009 " LSI Corporation (NYSE: LSI) today announced four new families of Tarari' Content and Security "plug-and-play" processor boards designed to meet the deep packet inspection requirements of entry-level to high-performance networks. Based on innovative Tarari T10 silicon and software architecture, these new solutions provide OEMs with the power and flexibility to cost-effectively address a broad array of network security requirements. In addition to silicon-based, application-specific standard products and custom silicon, LSI now offers the widest range of form factor alternatives for deep content inspection in the industry. The new boards fit standard PCIe, mini-PCIe, mini-PCI and Advanced Mezzanine Card (AdvancedMC) form factors, enabling Tarari Content and Security Processor solutions to be easily integrated with existing network security, quality of service, content-based billing and bandwidth management applications. "The wide range of Tarari board solutions addresses the increasingly broad and critical performance requirements of security OEMs and telecom equipment providers alike," said Bob Wheeler, senior analyst at The Linley Group. "By providing both ready-made plug-in boards and silicon alternatives, LSI enables OEMs to optimize each design for either minimum time to market or maximum integration across a range of form factors." The new series of Tarari Content and Security Processor board solutions complements the previously announced 8300 series, which provides standard PCI Express' connectivity at speeds from 250 Mb/s to 3 Gb/s. All Tarari Content Processor board and chip solutions employ a common set of regular expression rules and application programming interfaces. This enables a single engineering development effort to span an entire network product portfolio, resulting in reduced time to market and maximum return on investment. "LSI Tarari Content and Security Processor solutions are targeted at OEM equipment lines that require a very broad range of performance " from hundreds of megabits to tens of gigabits per second," said Randy Smerik, senior vice president, Network Components Division, LSI. "By leveraging our in-depth experience with high-speed processor technology as well as system- and network-level expertise, LSI delivers a complete portfolio of scalable, high-performance solutions that meet or exceed enterprise and service provider requirements for the deployment of next-generation, intelligent networks." The LSI portfolio of Tarari Content Processor board solutions consist of the following new families:
