Lastline’s Advanced Threat Intelligence includes active command and control (C&C) servers, objects with zero-day exploits, toxic web sites and malware distribution points. With this update to the Juniper Spotlight Secure Platform, Juniper SRX Series Services Gateways customers get open access (via API) to a key part of the highly-scalable Lastline software platform: its threat intelligence feed of bad IP addresses associated with malware distribution points and C&C servers. Existing Lastline customers also get access to object-level threat intelligence, and can integrate their on-premise or hosted deployments with the Juniper Spotlight Secure platform for centralized firewall policy management.

Lastline automatically, continuously and dynamically detects new threats with a sophisticated combination of web crawling, emulated browsers, machine learning and big data analytics. Lastline’s offering can be deployed alongside open platforms like Juniper’s to effectively detect advanced and evasive threats that get through legacy network-based security systems. By making advanced threat intelligence feeds like Lastline’s available on an open platform, Juniper is empowering its customers with the most up-to-date, actionable intelligence so they can modify firewall policies to stop malicious traffic and isolate infections across the enterprise quickly and effectively.

Lastline protects against new and evasive malware not caught by other security platforms, like the Backoff tool that gave hackers access to credit card information through point-of-sale machines at retailers including Target, Neiman Marcus, PF Chang's and -- most recently -- The Home Depot. The complete Lastline Advanced Malware Protection Platform is comprised of network- and object-level detection with flexible deployment, correlated management and comprehensive detection powered by next-generation sandboxing.
