PRESS RELEASE
ATLANTA, July 28, 2011— Dell SecureWorks announced today their plan to provide Managed and Monitored Next-Generation Firewall services for Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall infrastructure to customers worldwide.
Dell SecureWorks provides firewall management and monitoring services as part of a full suite of security services including Intrusion Prevention/Detection, log monitoring and retention, SIEM, vulnerability management, security consulting, threat intelligence and more. While Dell SecureWorks will continue to provide management for traditional firewalls from leading providers, the addition of Next-Generation Firewall Management and Monitoring services for Palo Alto Networks reflects the strong adoption of this technology by Dell’s customers and prospects.
The Dell SecureWorks Next-Generation Firewall Management Service will help organizations reduce management and monitoring costs and provides unmetered support from Dell SecureWorks’ highly trained security experts. In addition, the service will offer flexible co-management options, policy and rule-set management, device upgrades and patch management as well as backup and recovery. The service will also include extensive security and compliance reporting capabilities. Organizations that use Dell SecureWorks benefit from visibility and correlation of data across security technology platforms and thousands of customer networks to detect and prevent threats prior to impact.
Palo Alto Networks' next-generation firewalls enable enterprises to identify and control applications, users, and content—not just ports, IP addresses, and packets like traditional firewalls. By providing more granular control and in-depth protection down to the level of individual applications, enterprise organizations are able to detect more sophisticated current and emerging cyber threats targeting their critical business systems.
"Dell SecureWorks is focused on providing customers with exceptional managed security solutions that help address legitimate cyber threats targeting organizations. Working with Palo Alto Networks allows Dell SecureWorks to deliver service to customers leveraging an industry-leading technology to help address emerging cyber threats. This is especially important as the use of cloud-based services, social networking and mobile computing has become common in enterprise organizations," said Dan DeRosa, director of product management, Dell SecureWorks.
"Dell SecureWorks is a strategic addition to our MSP Program and a key indicator of enterprises’ interest in combining managing security solutions with their next generation firewall deployments," said Punit Minocha, vice president of business and corporate development at Palo Alto Networks. "We also anticipate this relationship will be highly beneficial for our existing customers who are looking to broaden out their network security footprint with a seamless, managed services approach."
Dell SecureWorks Managed and Monitored Next Generation Firewall Service will be available beginning in August 2011.
