BeyondTrust Offers Free App for Mobile Vuln Management

The updated solution makes it even easier for IT security professionals to proactively identify the latest mobile device vulnerabilities threatening their corporate networks.

Retina CS for Mobile is included as a standard module with the Retina CS Enterprise Vulnerability Management solution. The module can scan Blackberry and ActiveSync-managed devices accessing the network, as well as conduct local assessments of Android devices via a free app available through the Google Play Store. With the app’s local scan and report capabilities, employees can identify security weaknesses on their Android devices at any time, from anywhere.

By feeding mobile device vulnerability data into a centralized analytics and reporting console, the updated module enables IT security administrators to identify, profile and assess smart phones and tablets alongside other assets in their environment, such as laptops, servers, web applications, databases and virtual machines. This gives administrators full, zero-gap visibility into risk throughout a heterogeneous IT infrastructure. The new release also continuously updates the Retina CS Android app by way of BeyondTrust’s BeyondSaaS cloud-based vulnerability assessment solution. This ensures mobile devices are always assessed for the latest exposures — even when they aren’t connected to the network.
