New York, NY – March 17, 2016 – Teramind, an internal threats security company, announced today its public launch and vision to deliver advanced forensics capabilities to any sized company – from enterprises through startups – helping them eliminate threats that originate from within their respective organizations.
Teramind provides its customers with the ability to monitor - in real-time - potential threats coming from within their respective organizations, including visual screen recordings, email capture, file transfer tracking and complete user activity logging. The platform can be easily configured to notify, block, redirect, log-out or even lockout users depending on the severity of the offense.
In addition to internal security, the company’s technology also provides customers with audit compliance, data protection and productivity analysis functionalities. Teramind’s solution is available as a cloud or on-premise solution.
Since its soft launch in 2014, Teramind’s technology has already been in use by large corporations and dozens of startups around the world, across numerous industries, including TV and radio outlets, medical, law, financial offices, online retailers, real estate and construction companies, travel agencies and hotels and resorts.
“The identification of suspicious activity and detection of possible threats are critical to an organization's ability to protect its system,” said Isaac Kohen, Founder and CEO of Teramind. “With many of the most disastrous data breaches originating from internal sources, our technology allows our customers to quickly identify, combat and neutralize dangerous internal threats while simultaneously strengthening their internal security operations and capabilities.”
According to a recent report from McAfee, internal actors are now responsible for more than 40% of the serious data breach incidents experienced by companies. The report, which surveyed information technology and security professionals representing 1,155 organizations around the world, noted that internal actors include employees, contractors, and third-party suppliers, with a 60/40 split between employee/contractors and suppliers and that when they were involved in data exfiltration, internal actors were more likely to use physical media instead of electronic methods, especially USB drives and laptops. Employee information, both identity and health data, was a larger target for internal actors than customer data. Insider thefts accounted for almost 50% of data loss in Asia-Pacific, said the report, compared to less than 40% in the UK and 41% in North America.
Teramind was built with the goal of helping companies identify and eliminate internal threats. Founded in 2014 by an experienced team of developers, Teramind is currently being used by dozens of organizations, including some of the world’s largest companies, helping strengthen internal security operations and procedures as well as increase productivity.
