OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL -- April 20, 2016 -- VASCO® Data Security International, Inc. (NASDAQ: VDSI), a global leader in authentication, electronic signatures, and identity management today announced DIGIPASS SecureClick, a hardware authenticator that enables users  to complete access to common online applications with the single click of a button.

DIGIPASS SecureClick was designed to FIDO U2F specifications to fulfill the FIDO Alliance mission of creating a higher level of online user security through strong authentication standards that move beyond inherently weak static passwords. DIGIPASS SecureClick is FIDO Certified and communicates via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or a USB port. Easy-to-use and about the size of a coin, DIGIPASS SecureClick offers the proven strength of two-factor authentication in a highly-portable device.

DIGIPASS SecureClick offers consumers and enterprise users the most simple and secure access experience. After launching an application that supports FIDO U2F, the user simply enters their login credentials and clicks the button on DIGIPASS SecureClick to complete the authentication process. The process leverages an encrypted communication channel between DIGIPASS SecureClick and the BLE device to deliver simple, secure and fast user authentication.

“DIGIPASS SecureClick is an important innovation that delivers the optimal balance of application security and a frictionless user experience,” stated Jan Valcke, President and COO of VASCO Data Security. “We’ve had great success with our authentication technology in the banking segment for many years and we are pleased to support the FIDO Alliance vision of providing stronger security to the broader online application market.”

”Achieving FIDO certification is a milestone that showcases how VASCO is supporting the FIDO Alliance vision for open and interoperable strong authentication,” said Brett McDowell, executive director of the FIDO Alliance. “Using FIDO Certified products like the DIGIPASS SecureClick allows consumers to access applications that support the FIDO U2F standard, including Google, Dropbox and GitHub, with strong authentication that is incredibly convenient to use.”
