PRESS RELEASE

DALLAS, Sept. 3, 2014 - Entrust today announced that they have re-joined the CA/Browser Forum, a leading group of certification authorities and browser software vendors. The group, which Entrust formerly chaired for nearly seven years, is committed to providing greater assurance to Internet users by leveraging the capabilities of SSL certificates.

"Entrust has long been a leader in the creation, adoption and promotion of the standards critical to the establishment of the SSL trust infrastructure," said Tim Moses, senior director, Advanced Security Technology. "We are dedicated to continuing our efforts to improve and enhance the SSL ecosystem and believe that SSL will remain the standard."

Entrust first began its dedication to SSL standards and practices in 1999 and became the first CA to earn the WebTrust CA Seal of Assurance in 2001. Awarded by Deloitte & Touche, this qualification complies with the WebTrust standards for issuing and managing digital certificates established by both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA).

"SSL will continue to remain an enabler of the Internet and the baseline standard for strong online security," said David Rockvam, senior vice president of product management and SaaS offerings at Entrust. "The alignment of organizations within the CA/Browser Forum allows SSL digital certificates and related trust infrastructure to continue to secure the Internet while technology evolves."

In 2007, Entrust was the first to receive the WebTrust Seal of Assurance from Deloitte for extended validation SSL certificates. Following the trend, Entrust was the first CA in 2012 to be reviewed by a third party to comply with the technical requirements of the Microsoft Windows Root Certificate Program.

Entrust Certificate Services provide organizations with SSL and specialty digital certificates that are proven, cost-effective and supported by standards-based technology. The Entrust public root is ubiquitous on more than 99.9 percent of desktop and mobile browsers.

In January 2013, analyst firm Frost & Sullivan updated their findings of an in-depth market evaluation, confirming Entrust as the No. 2 provider of SSL digital certificates and services in the world.
