PRESS RELEASE

LAS VEGAS – Black Hat 2014 – August 5, 2014 – Verdasys, the leading provider of advanced data protection for endpoints for Global 2000 companies, has re-launched the company as Digital Guardian, which, until now, was the name of its flagship product. The re-launch follows significant changes in the company over the past year including naming former McAfee executive Ken Levine as CEO, completing a new financing round that’s expected to close at more than $20M and double-digit employee growth.

“This is much more than a name change, it’s a strong message to the security marketplace that we intend to elevate data protection to the top of the IT security checklist,” said Ken Levine, president and CEO of Digital Guardian. “The network perimeter has been dissolving, and while a layered approach is warranted, it’s really all about the data and securing it first – that’s what Digital Guardian does.”

Digital Guardian is the only data protection solution to defend against both insider and outside threats with a single endpoint agent. The patented Digital Guardian Agent has enabled centralized data protection policy definition and enforcement for over ten years. The initial focus on defending against insider threat has now been extended to include data protection from advanced outside attacks as well. The complete data protection and endpoint threat detection platform will be demonstrated at the Digital Guardian Booth (#1035) during the Black Hat Security Conference and is available for deployment either on premise or as a managed security program.

“The industry has ignored the data layer too long. Insiders and cyber criminals are getting more sophisticated so it’s more important than ever to protect critical data at all costs,” added Levine. “For over ten years, Verdasys has been helping solve some of the toughest intellectual property security challenges for the world’s biggest companies. Now, as Digital Guardian, our mission is to bring this same level of data protection to thousands of other companies worldwide that are facing insider and advanced outsider threats at an alarming rate.”

Leading up to its re-launch, Digital Guardian has announced significant sales momentum and made impressive additions to its senior team.
