Barracuda Networks has announced plans to acquire Fyde, a provider of zero-trust network access.
With the purchase, Barracuda will add zero-trust network access to its Barracuda CloudGen SASE (secure access service edge) platform, according to a statement. Fyde's zero-trust solution is now available immediately as Barracuda CloudGen Access.
Among the advantages Barracuda states for zero trust is the ability to eliminate VPNs from the infrastructure, thereby reducing friction for legitimate users. Versions for managed service providers will be available in the coming weeks, Barracuda says.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
