ISA’S CLINTON ON LIST OF 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
July 22, 2015
PRESS RELEASE
The Internet Security Alliance (ISA) is proud to announce that it’s President and CEO, Larry Clinton, has been named to the “Corporate 100” which identifies the nation’s 100 most influential people in the field of corporate governance.
Joining Clinton on the list are a wide range of luminaries including the 5 current members of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the 5 Directors of the Delaware Board of Chancery, the CEOs of the major audit firms, the President of the NY Stock Exchange the CEO of NASDAQ and other CEOs and industry leaders.
The Internet Security Alliance is by far the smallest entity recognized on the list and Clinton is the only representative with a distinctly cyber security background.
“Naturally I’m very honored and flattered to be on this list”, said Clinton. “But more important is the fact that cyber security expertise is now being recognized as an issue of such importance in the corporate governance world that professionals in this space are being considered among the overall leaders in corporate governance.”
The list is prepared annually by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). ““NACD is honored to recognize the achievements and commitment to excellence exemplified by these exceptional individuals. Effective corporate directors and governance leaders are nothing short of essential to the success of the enterprise—from creating and sustaining long-term value, to serving as a guiding light in times of disruption,” said NACD CEO Ken Daly. “The NACD Directorship 100 honorees set the standard of excellence which we all should strive to meet.” The full list of the 2015 NACD 100 honorees can be found here: 2015 Honorees.
Clinton’s prominence in the corporate governance field was highlighted last year when he was asked, along with AIG and the ISA board of directors, to prepare the first handbook on cyber security for corporate directors. That handbook has been widely praised and has received endorsements from a diversity of stakeholders from the Department of Homeland Security to the International Audit Institute.
“Cyber security is now the top issue on the list of concerns for corporate boards of directors,” said Clinton, “our work has been to educate directors not only to the existence of the threat but how to integrate cyber risk management into their major business decision making process. By properly locating cyber security within the corporate decision making process we can help create an economically sustainable system of cyber security which is the Mission of the ISA,” said Clinton
