Dark Reading Radio: CISO James Christiansen Shares Experiences
Former CISO at GM, Visa, and Experian answers questions about building security programs in large enterprises.
Have you ever wondered what it's like to run the IT security department at an organization like General Motors, Visa International, or Experian America? On Wednesday's Dark Reading Radio program, you can chat with someone who's done all of those things -- and more.
James Christiansen, who is currently vice president of information risk management and a member of the Office of the CISO for Accuvant, will join me on Dark Reading Radio on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern for a live interview and online chat with our listening audience. He will share some of his experiences in managing the cyber security operations at several large organizations and answer questions about his approach to enterprise policies and controls.
In addition to stints running the security departments at GM, Visa, and Experian, Christiansen has been the chief information risk officer at Evantix and has served in a leading role for cyber security at a number of healthcare organizations. He is an expert on IT security in large organizations as well as the healthcare industry. At Accuvant, he helps CXOs make executive decisions based on the balance of risk and cost.
Christiansen co-authored and co-chaired the ANSI study on the financial impacts of breaches on healthcare and co-founded the PHI Protection Network. He has been featured in The New York Times and received three innovation awards in cyber security, GRC, and cloud computing. He is the author of the "Internet Survival Series" and contributing author of "CISO Essentials" as well as numerous industry papers.
Please join us for the Dark Reading Radio interview and online chat on Sept. 10 at 1:00 p.m.
