Cylance Names Tech Industry Veteran Malcolm Harkins as Global CISO

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 2, 2015) - Cylance Inc., creator of the first next-generation endpoint protection software to detect and block previously unknown malware and advanced threats, has named technology industry veteran Malcolm Harkins as its global chief information security officer.

Harkins is responsible for all aspects of information risk and security at Cylance, as well as public policy and outreach activities to improve understanding of security best practices for managing and mitigating cyber risks. Malcolm will also be responsible for building strong relationships with customers, understanding their ongoing security needs and helping infuse those needs into Cylance's products and services offerings.

Harkins comes to Cylance following 23 years at Intel Corp, where he most recently served as a vice president and chief security and privacy officer (CSPO). In that role he was responsible for managing the risk, controls, privacy, security, and related compliance activities for Intel as well as all of its products and services. 

He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of California, Davis.
