BOULDER, Colo., Aug. 21, 2012 – Symplified®, the Cloud Identity Company, today announced the appointment of Shayne Higdon as the company’s new CEO and member of its Board of Directors. He is charged with driving Symplified’s accelerated growth as the market leader in cloud-based identity and access management. The company’s current and founding CEO, Eric Olden, will assume the role of Executive Chairman and continue to provide visionary and strategic product direction for Symplified.

“Shayne led the investment in Symplified by Quest Software, has been a Board observer for the past three years, and is intimately familiar with our market, business, technology and team,” said Eric Olden, founder and Executive Chairman of Symplified. “His global experience and proven track record as a corporate strategist, operational executive and go-to-market expert make him the ideal choice to scale Symplified from its current position as a market leader in cloud identity into one of the industry’s top security vendors. Personally, I am excited to direct my focus towards extending the innovation and product leadership Symplified has established.”

Mr. Higdon brings a wealth of global operating and board-level executive management experience to Symplified, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Quest Software (NASDAQ: QSFT), a leading provider of IT management solutions across physical, virtual and cloud environments. In this role, he was responsible for the performance monitoring business and founded and built the company’s user workspace management business focused on managing user identities while securely delivering applications across any device in any location. Over the course of his career, Mr. Higdon has incubated and built business units through internal R&D and acquisition; managed global operations, sales and marketing; and headed up worldwide corporate strategy and M&A for a publicly traded software company.

“Symplified created the market for cloud-based identity and access management, and in the process established itself as the leader in the space,” said Shayne Higdon, CEO of Symplified. “When Eric and the Board approached me about taking over the reins at Symplified, it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up. The Symplified team has built a world-class product that solves the ever-increasing single sign-on and identity management challenges facing enterprises today. According to Gartner, IDaaS will account for more than 40% of all new IAM sales by the end of 2015[1]. My goal is to accelerate the adoption of our products around the world and grow Symplified into a dominant force in the IT and security market.”

Mr. Higdon was previously managing director and head of M&A, corporate strategy and investments at Quest. In this role he oversaw more than 30 acquisitions and investments ranging from domestic to cross-border transactions, and an International Investment Fund focused on funding innovation abroad. Mr. Higdon has also held executive level positions in product management, R&D, product marketing and sales. He currently sits on the board of JAMF Software; a privately held best-of-breed management company focused on Mac and iOS environments. He holds a BBA in Computer Information Systems from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB).
