Symark International Appoints John Mutch as Chief Executive Officer
Technology industry veteran to lead next phase of growth strategy for identity and access management leader

Agoura Hills, Calif.—December 1, 2008—Symark International, developer of the PowerSeries identity and access management solutions for heterogeneous IT environments, today announced the appointment of John Mutch to chief executive officer.
Mr. Mutch brings more than 25 years of experience in the business software industry, most recently as a founder and managing partner of MV Advisors, LLC, a strategic block investment firm that provides focused investment and strategic guidance to small and mid-cap technology companies.

Prior to his time with MV Advisors, LLC, Mr. Mutch served as president and CEO of Peregrine Systems, where he successfully restructured the company and sold it to Hewlett-Packard for $425 million. Prior to Peregrine, Mr. Mutch was president and CEO of HNC Software, where he nearly doubled company revenue and successfully spun out Retek in an IPO which returned more than $2.5 billion to shareholders. HNC Software was sold to Fair Isaac Corporation in August of 2002 for $825 million. Mr. Mutch currently serves on the Board of Adaptec Inc. (Nasdaq: ADPT) where he chairs the audit committee and he is the Chairman of the Board for Aspyra Inc. (Amex: APY). Mr. Mutch has also served on numerous public and private company boards. Mr. Mutch holds a master's degree from the University of Chicago and a bachelor's degree from Cornell University where he serves on the advisory board for the undergraduate school of business.
