Nicholas Percoco, Prominent Cyber Security Professional, Joins KPMG Information Protection Group

NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Nicholas Percoco, a prominent cyber security professional, has joined KPMG LLP as a Director in the firm's Information Protection group. Percoco is known for his cyber security research on mobile devices and data breach statistics.
Percoco is based in the firm's Chicago office and will be responsible for global corporate security program development, advanced threat defense, incident management and security research.

Prior to KPMG, Percoco led the global SpiderLabs organization at Trustwave for more than a decade. He led thousands of computer incident response investigations and ethical hacking exercises. As a speaker, he has provided unique insight around security breaches, malware, mobile security and information security trends to public and private audiences throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
In 2011, SC Magazine named Percoco Security Researcher of the Year. In addition, he was inducted into the inaugural class of the Illinois State University College of Applied Science and Technology Academy of Achievement.
Percoco is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board for The College of Applied Science & Technology at Illinois State University and a co-creator of THOTCON, a hacking conference held in Chicago each year. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Illinois State University.
