PRESS RELEASE
ARLINGTON, VA - July 13, 2011 -GroupLogic(r), the industry's leading provider of software products that unlock the power of new enterprise platforms, today released version 2.1 of mobilEcho, the industry's first and only secure Mobile File Management (MFM) software product for iPad. Key upgrades aim to reduce hardware and management costs associated with enterprise-wide deployment on multiple servers and enhance the end-user client experience with additional file management capabilities.
With mobilEcho 2.1, organizations can easily scale to support 10s to 100s of File Servers and hundreds of thousands of users with Network Reshare and Distributed File System (DFS) support, ensuring rapid enterprise deployment is simple, secure, complete and cost-effective. mobilEcho 2.1's Network Reshare support allows mobilEcho to act as a proxy to other file servers, including Windows and Linux, as well as increasingly required NAS devices. In addition, support for DFS means mobile users can now access files and resources located in consolidated DFS storage.
mobilEcho 2.0 became generally available on May 23, 2011 after in-depth beta and 1.0 testing to select customers and partners on iPad, with additional device platform support planned for later this year. Since the general release of mobilEcho as an alternative to an iPad file system, the product has gained significant traction with enterprises looking to securely integrate iPad into their existing IT ecosystem in multiple industries, including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, consumer goods, advertising, energy, non-profit services and education.
New features of mobilEcho 2.1 include: - Improved file management for the end-user, including the ability to copy and move multiple folders and their contents; - More detailed file transfer status; - Adjustable network connection timeout; - Rapid creation of new client profiles; - Simultaneous assignment of new servers to multiple profiles; - Disablement of individual user or group client management profiles, when required; and, - Automated security warnings when mobilEcho-enabled devices attempt file server access without third-party trusted SSL certificates.
"While the general availability launch of mobilEcho is barely two months behind us, we still felt it was important to release these updates as soon as they became available," said Anders Lofgren, VP, Product Management, GroupLogic. "As we've always done, we continue to focus on developing products and features that will make using emerging platform products in the enterprise easier and more secure - both for IT and for the end users themselves. These recent additions to mobilEcho are yet another way we're executing on that long-standing mission."
mobilEcho 2.1 is available today and can be purchased via the GroupLogic web store (http://www.grouplogic.com/store/). Interested IT organizations can also take advantage of GroupLogic's free trial of mobilEcho by visiting: www.grouplogic.com/enterprise-file-sharing/ipad-file-system/free-trial.html.
