PRESS RELEASE
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Mar 01, 2010 Fox Technologies, Incorporated, (FoxT), a leading provider of comprehensive Enterprise Access Management solutions, today announced the expansion of platform coverage for BoKS Access Control for Servers to include the ability to control access to Virtual Servers in the Amazon EC2 Cloud.
"While many organizations are moving their business applications into the Cloud, the ability to effectively control and audit access to the resources in the cloud, from both from the internal network as well as from external sites, is a significant security risk," stated Per Eliasson, VP of Engineering. "By expanding the coverage of BoKS Access Control for Servers solution to include virtual servers running in the Amazon EC2 Cloud, we enable organizations to protect their cloud resources with the same BoKS fine-grained access control management infrastructure as they have for their other physical and virtual servers."
The BoKS Access Control for Servers solution enables organizations to rapidly implement centralized administration, contextual authentication, granular authorization, and consolidated audit reports across their diverse server environments. In particular, the BoKS solution provides the ability to securely authorize access to root and other functional account privileges across servers in both physical and virtual environments. Using BoKS, privileged access requests are tied to individuals and the sharing of privileged passwords is nearly eliminated.
With the new expansion of coverage, organizations can easily setup and automatically add Amazon EC2 machines to the BoKS access management infrastructures. All standard BoKS features will be available for the EC2 machines including centralized administration and management of privileged users, centralized management of SSH, fine-grained access control rules and consolidated logging with audit report capabilities.
"The delivery of support for the Amazon Cloud is a first step forward in our goal of providing leadership in securing access to the Cloud," stated Subhash Tantry, CEO at FoxT. "The more we can enable organizations to centralize access management across diverse platforms, both physical and virtual, the more we can help them control IT administration costs, reduce the risk of insider fraud, and simplify regulatory compliance."
