Potts joins Lancope with more than 20 years of hands-on operational experience in the enterprise software and security industry.

Prior to joining Lancope, Potts served as president and CEO of AirDefense, where he lead the company through an accelerated growth phase of more than 300% in 2 ½ years. Under his leadership, AirDefense became the recognized global leader in wireless security and was strategically acquired by Motorola (NYSE:MOT) in September 2008. Potts takes the helm at Lancope following the retirement of Harland LaVigne, the chairman, president and CEO since 2002.

"Mike has tremendous experience in the technology industry and proven success leading public and private enterprise software companies," said Fred Sturgis, managing director at H.I.G. Ventures and a member of Lancope's board of directors. "We are excited to have Mike Potts as our new president and CEO. He has the strategic vision and operational acumen required to effectively implement Lancope's plans for future growth and success."

"Total network visibility is a critical requirement for organizations seeking to manage, secure and optimize network performance," said Potts. "Lancope is uniquely positioned to meet this need. I look forward to leading the strategic growth of the company and driving Lancope's recognition as a leader of NetFlow collection and analysis for security, network and virtual monitoring."

Before taking the helm at AirDefense, Potts served as CEO of Clickfox, an analytic solutions provider. In 1998, Potts was appointed president of Jacada (Nasdaq: JCDA), a software integration company. During his tenure at Jacada, Potts led the company's efforts to secure more than 1,000 customers and was a key contributor to Jacada's successful initial public offering in 1999. While serving as president, Computerworld named Jacada one of the top 10 places to work in the Southeast. Prior to Jacada, Potts served in several sales and management roles at MSA, a financial application software company subsequently acquired by Dun and Bradsteet (NYSE: DNB).

Potts has served on the executive board of the American Israel Chamber of Commerce, the American Electronics Association (AEA) and is currently on the board of directors of several private, emerging technology companies. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1984 with a BBA in Marketing.
