(DALLAS, Nov. 12 2010) -- FireHost, Inc., a secure managed hosting company, will close out the year with exponential revenue and customer growth. The company has seen the most traction in industries that handle confidential information like credit cards and medical records, and those governed by regulatory compliance, such as PCI DSS and HIPAA. Double-digit growth in cybercrime has driven Ecommerce, healthcare, banking, and security organizations to seek secure Web and application hosting as a means to keep hackers from impeding performance or stealing confidential information. FireHost has increased revenue in the double-digits month over month and added hundreds of new customers including Sotheby's, American Standard, medical centers at USC, Duke and Johns Hopkins Universities, and Cgate Health.

"Our growth shows that an ounce of prevention truly is worth a pound of cure. Company leaders see the value in our service and realize that incorporating secure Web hosting proactively can help their organizations avoid brand damage, downtime, lost sales, and a slew of legal troubles down the road," said Chris Drake, founder and CEO of FireHost.

FireHost began offering secure managed hosting services in 2008, but the company was thrust into the public eye in June 2009 when they took on hosting the websites of Kevin Mitnick, a well-known hacker in the 1990s turned security consultant. No other hosting companies would support Mitnick after his websites were hacked on a competing host, so FireHost accepted the challenge and has kept his websites free from attacks for nearly 18 months.

FireHost has since added hundreds of high-target, high-traffic websites and applications to its' secure servers. Cgate Health, a mobile health lab solution for providers and laboratories, chose FireHost because of the critical need to protect all of the patient data collected in its' Web application. "We are seeing a fast and rather substantial shift towards mobile solutions in healthcare industry wide. Lab results are the life blood of a patient's medical record and represent over 70 percent of its critical data. It is imperative that every technology that touches laboratory orders and results be protected, no exceptions," said Rob Donnelly, founder and CEO of Cgate Health. "FireHost has made it their business to fully understand HIPAA compliance surrounding electronic medical records, and we trust that with FireHost's Secure Servers, having a data breach is one less thing to worry about."

FireHost started 2010 with a $2 million Series A funding round and will end 2010 celebrating 225 percent revenue growth. FireHost has also doubled its workforce, recently hiring seasoned security expert and author Chris Davis as director of security and compliance. Davis' written achievements and contributions include Hacking Exposed Computer Forensics, IT Auditing: Using Controls to Protect Information Assets, Anti-Hacker Toolkit, and The Computer Security Handbook 5th Ed. The company will move into a larger space in Dallas, TX in the spring 2011.
