CSC Offers GRC Solution As A Service
CSC Horizon integrates data and reporting from existing cybersecurity controls into one view

PRESS RELEASE
FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug. 14, 2013 – CSC today expanded its managed security services to include Horizon, a next-generation solution to help enterprises meet the growing number of regulatory and compliance mandates for cybersecurity.
"CSC Horizon offers clients an answer to today's security compliance complexity," said Samuel Visner, vice president and general manager, CSC Global Cybersecurity. "With heightened visibility into technology threats and vulnerabilities information, customers can increase the security of their organization while also saving time and money responding to compliance and regulatory demands."
According to a recent IDC white paper, sponsored by EMC Corporation, U.S. organizations must meet the requirements of more than 20 federal and state regulations regarding data protection and privacy. In addition to regional and country-specific programs, a typical global enterprise has at least three global risk and compliance programs.
To protect their networks and meet the requirements of these mandates, organizations must continuously monitor their systems, mitigate emerging cybersecurity threats, and report on their actions and the statuses of their cybersecurity controls. For many businesses, cybersecurity information is widely dispersed across incompatible security tools and systems that they have accumulated over time, resulting in ineffective and resource-intensive compliance efforts.
CSC's new Horizon solution streamlines the governance, risk and compliance (GRC) process for businesses by integrating data and reporting from existing cybersecurity controls into one easy-to-understand view. The solution's customizable enterprise dashboard provides clients with real-time continuous monitoring of their cybersecurity status through the use of vulnerability analysis, exploit discovery, threat remediation and recovery services.
CSC's Horizon service is managed through CSC's global network of security operations centers, enabling organizations to rapidly deploy the capability without large capital budgets or recruitment of internal experts. Horizon, based upon technology from the RSA Archer® GRC platform, can be deployed in either traditional or cloud-enabled data centers, customized to meet individual client GRC needs, and scaled up as cybersecurity risks and available resources increase.
