SAN FRANCISCO, May 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- CloudPassage, Inc., a pioneering security SaaS company, today announced that its software-as-a-service security solution is now available as a Partner Server Image within GoGrid, a leading cloud infrastructure provider,. Now, with CloudPassage, GoGrid's public and hybrid IaaS customers can manage their own cloud security by leveraging a single solution that is purpose-built for the cloud and delivers multiple layers of defense for cloud servers.

"GoGrid is honored to have CloudPassage as a member of the GoGrid Exchange, our ecosystem of powerful software and cloud solution providers," said John Keagy, CEO and founder of GoGrid. "The CloudPassage security solution offers GoGrid users an additional layer of security that is designed to be cloud-capable and elastic through its delivery model."

Server-level security protection is critical in the cloud where front-line perimeter defenses are limited. Customers deploying cloud infrastructure in many environments are largely on their own to protect themselves; strong and highly automated host-based controls are essential.

"Security and compliance remain major challenges that stop companies from benefitting by the tremendous scalability, flexibility, and speed of cloud hosting," said Carson Sweet, CEO of CloudPassage. "Securing the server itself in an automated, portable, and elastic manner represents an extremely effective approach to practical survivability in public and hybrid clouds. We are excited to work with GoGrid as the first major cloud service provider to integrate our service into their Cloud platform."

CloudPassage technology is built from the ground up to provide elastic security by automatically delivering security visibility and controls when cloud servers burst or are cloned. Once security is set up on one server, all copies of that server created later will automatically inherit its security controls. CloudPassage and GoGrid joint customers benefit from greatly reduced attack surfaces, lower risk of compromise and improved compliance.

Server images that are pre-hardened with CloudPassage pre-installed can be downloaded through GoGrid's Exchange Partner website for free. To make it even easier to try CloudPassage, GoGrid is offering $100 service credit, good for many hours of free cloud server time, to every new CloudPassage user.
