Azaleos Secures BYOD With New Cloud-based Mobile Device Management ServiceAzaleos Secures BYOD With New Cloud-based Mobile Device Management Service
Azaleos Managed Mobile Device Management Service enables enterprises to centrally secure and control all leading mobile devices
July 17, 2012
SEATTLE, July 12, 2012 -- Azaleos® Corporation, the global private cloud services company for managed Exchange, managed SharePoint and managed Lync and now also managed AirWatch, today announced the new Azaleos Managed Mobile Device Management (MDM) Service that enables enterprises to centrally secure and control all leading mobile devices, including employee owned smartphones and tablets. This cloud-based service, which is offered in both private and public cloud options, addresses the security, compliance and cost challenges of managing mobile devices. The Azaleos Managed MDM service is based on technology from market leading MDM provider AirWatch and provides proactive 24x7 monitoring and management of company-issued and employee-owned mobile devices.
The cost of managed mobile devices is expected to soar to $339 per user in 2013 according to a report released yesterday by Osterman Research. Last year 32 percent of workers in mid-sized and large North American organizations employed a tablet or smartphone to access corporate resources. This number is expected to reach 50 percent by 2013 according to Osterman Research. For IT departments, the cost and complexity of managed mobile devices is being compounded because a growing proportion of devices are supplied and owned by individual users - also known as "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD). This phenomenon is forcing IT to support a wide array of mobile hardware platforms and operating systems - and stretching resources to their limit. In fact, fulltime employee staff required to manage smartphone users which was 2.9 per 1,000 smartphone users in 2011, is expected to climb to 4.0 in 2013.
Turnkey Managed MDM
To alleviate the growing resource drain caused by mobile device management, the Azaleos Managed MDM service provides:
. Device security management for lost, non-compliant, offline and jail broken devices, as well as data leakage protection for sensitive corporate information
. AirWatch MDM server architecture activation, configuration, monitoring, management, tuning and service interruption detection
. Private cloud/on-premise deployment, and a public cloud/SaaS option with the MDM servers hosted by AirWatch
. Continuous monitoring by Azaleos experts for all leading device platforms including iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows Phone
"With the explosive growth of personal devices in the enterprise, customers have been asking us for a mobile management service that goes beyond Microsoft Exchange and Blackberry Enterprise Server's capabilities," said Scott Gode, vice president of product management and marketing for Azaleos.
"The Azaleos Managed MDM Service combines the infrastructure, expertise and resources to centrally monitor and enforce corporate policies on all mobile devices, regardless of their platform and whether they are owned by the company or the employee. We reduce the complexity and IT resource challenges created by BYOD down to an affordable monthly per user subscription fee." The Azaleos Managed MDM service expands upon the company's existing managed services for Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) and mobile devices that support the ActiveSync protocol. The Azaleos managed BES service has also been expanded to support the new BlackBerry Mobile Fusion server.
"AirWatch is pleased to provide the underlying platform for the Azaleos Managed MDM Service," said Kevin Keith, Business Development Director for AirWatch. "Customers that need to secure and control a heterogeneous mix of corporate and employee-owned mobile devices can now take advantage of the latest world-class 24X7 managed service from Azaleos to offload a major IT burden."

The Azaleos Managed MDM Service is available immediately from Azaleos and selected Azaleos business partners worldwide. Pricing starts at $5 per user/per month.
