Two Arrested On Charges Of Hacking US Govt Officials
The North Carolina men reportedly conspired with others to break into government networks, steal personal data and misuse them.
Two men from North Carolina have been arrested on charges of hacking networks of senior US government officials, their families, as well as government computers, and abusing the information stolen.
According to the US Department of Justice (DoJ), Andrew Otto Boggs (a.k.a. INCURSIO) and Justin Gray Liverman (a.k.a. D3F4ULT) conspired with hacking group "Crackas With Attitude" and three others based in the United Kingdom to breach computers of their victims between October 2015 and February 2016. The personal details compromised were leaked on public websites and used to make crank calls and harass the victims on social media, the DoJ alleged.
The arrested duo will be presented before a magistrate next week.
