TeamF1, AMCC Team Up
TeamF1 and AMCC announced expanded support of TeamF1's secure networking solutions on AMCC's PowerPC family
FREMONT, Calif. -- TeamF1, Inc. (www.TeamF1.com), the high-performance embedded networking and security software company, and Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (AMCC) (NASDAQ:AMCC), a leading vendor of embedded PowerPC(R) and network processors today announced expanded support of TeamF1's secure networking solutions on AMCC's PowerPC family of highly integrated embedded microprocessors. This is the latest milestone in a strategic alliance which combines TeamF1's expertise in embedded security and advanced networking software with AMCC's global leadership in embedded PowerPC processors.
The two companies have committed to jointly develop highly integrated, advanced networking and security platforms for OEMs and ODMs in the Wi-Fi(R) and VPN application space. Their partnership focuses on demonstrating optimized hardware architectures and software components designed to leverage specialized hardware resources.
Following the recent successful porting of TeamF1 products on AMCC's 440GR based Yellowstone evaluation kit earlier this year, TeamF1 has now integrated its secure access point software (Air Secure Access Point or "ASAP") on AMCC's "Taihu" development platform -- a low-cost, easy-to-use evaluation kit for AMCC's PowerPC 405EP processor. This new integrated platform consists of TeamF1's ASAP software, TeamF1's secure management middleware, AMCC's PowerPC 405EP based Taihu evaluation kit and a standard off-the-shelf PCI-based Wi-Fi chipset. This pre-validated solution is targeted towards the growing market for low-cost, yet full-featured secure access points and wireless gateways.
