PORTLAND, Ore. -- Centennial Software, the leading developer of network security and IT asset management solutions, today announced the latest version of its award-winning DeviceWall endpoint security solution, DeviceWall CAE (Content Aware Edition). The new product is designed to help organizations prevent sensitive files from leaving the network and to stop malicious code from being introduced onto mission-critical IT systems through individual PCs.

In addition to its ability to manage access to devices such as USB sticks, portable hard drives, smart phones and MP3 players, DeviceWall CAE is the first solution of its type to introduce advanced content filtering technology.

Matt Fisher, vice president at Centennial Software, explained why content awareness is critical to managing organizations' security policies: "It's quite common for people trying to hide inappropriate data transfers to change the extension of a file they want to copy or access. With its ability to see through such efforts and identify the original nature of the file, DeviceWall CAE gives managers a more accurate view of user behavior and better equips them to establish and enforce the right security policies."
