ATLANTA -- Integrated email and Internet content security provider Marshal Inc. today announced immediate availability of WebMarshal 2006, a powerful Internet management tool for securing and protecting SMB and enterprise organizations and their employees against the latest wave of Web-browsing threats.

WebMarshal 2006 helps companies to control threats inside the Web gateway though granular, easy-to-use tools and Acceptable Use Policies (AUP) that restrict employee access to inappropriate Web content and manage employees’ personal Internet use while at work. The software also secures organizations against external threats from viruses, spyware, phishing and other malicious code attacks.

“WebMarshal 2006 is invaluable to companies who need to monitor Web traffic and attempts to upload and download files at http, https and ftp sites,” said Robert Demond, President, Messaging Solutions LLC, a Houston-based value added reseller of messaging security and network management solutions. “The new spyware plug-ins offers a solution to block most malicious codes at the network level rather than on the desktop, which should result in significant savings in support costs.”

Penny Freeman, Director of Software Sales Engineering, Marshal Inc. advises, “Failing to put adequate controls in place to manage employees’ Web access can result not just in reduced employee productivity but, potentially, puts company executives at risk of prosecution for allowing access to illegal or offensive Web content. WebMarshal removes this risk while simultaneously improving productivity.”
